….My family likes any kind of tofu dish. Tofu is a must-have ingredient in my refrigerator. It’s a very simple tofu recipe. This is something you can easily put together in a short amount of time that will please pretty much everybody and especially vegetarians. Tofu is pronounced as “doo boo” in Korean. If you say doo boo in front of Koreans, they will be impressed. This recipe is from @booth108kwon. My husband JOHN ate deliciously again today.

Serving: 4

Time: 20 min

Ingredients:

  1. 1 pack medium firm tofu (1lb)
  2. 3 Ts potato starch
  3. salt & black pepper
  4. 2 Ts mat-gan-jang
  5. 2 Ts mirin (sweet cooking rice seasoning)
  6. 2 Ts sake
  7. 1 Ts diced green onion
  8. 1 Ts avocado oil

cooking instructions :

  1. Drain the tofu and gently press it in a kitchen towel for few minutes, cut it into 6 pieces.
  2. Sprinkle salt & pepper into the tofu.

3. Coat outsides of the tofu with potato starch evenly.

4. Add the avocado oil into a nonstick pan, fry the tofu until it becomes light brown on the outside.

5. Turn off the heat, move the tofu from the pan to another plate.

6. Mix the special soy sauce, the mirin and the sake into the pan. Simmer the sauce, then put the tofu into the pan until golden brown.

7. Serve with diced green onion.

I started organizing recipes that my family likes. I learned these recipes from some chefs and popular blogs. May my daughters remember mama's food.
