Fried Wonton with Green Beans

….I’ve never seen this dish before. I was curious what the combination of tempura and green beans, my husband’s favorite, tastes like. This recipe is from chef @sarakim_lee. Such a great idea and looks great. Also I asked her “How do you season the green beans?”. She was very kind and informed me quickly. Thank you so much!!!! I didn’t hesitate to decide making it and went to market. But I couldn’t find fresh green beans, so unfortunately I got frozen green beans. Still, I was excited on the way back with a little anticipation for a new dish. When my husband came back home, the smell of fried dumpling filled my kitchen. Soon after, my husband’s hands were busy…hahaha and happy! Even more my daughter ANNE stopped by home for dinner together. She loved this dish, and she gave an idea to try next time to add some tofu and mushroom in it. “Don’t you think it will taste better?” She is my daughter who is always interested in food……..It tastes very crispy and the flavor of the dumpling skin goes well with the green beans. Also it’s a great appetizer.

Time: 30 minutes


  1. 40 wonton wrapper, thawed out in the fridge
  2. 1 cup green beans, thawed out in the fridge(or fresh green beans, peeled)
  3. sea salt to taste
  4. black pepper to taste
  5. 1 Ts mixed vegetables juice
  6. canola oil to fry
  7. 1/3 egg white

Cooking instructions:

  1. Put the green beans into a tray and sprinkle sea salt, black pepper, and mixed vegetables juice into the tray. Set aside for 10 minutes.

2. Put a wrapper on your palm and put some egg white on the edge of the wrapper. Add some green beans to the center of the wrapper and fold it diagonally to seal. Repeat until you’ve made dumplings from all your green beans.

3. Heat a pan with medium high heat and add the canola oil into the pan. Heat the oil to 350 degrees(when you put wooden chopstick in the oil, there should be bubbles around the chopstick). Place several layers of paper towels on a sheet pan. Put the dumpling into the pan to fry them until light brown for 20 seconds each side.

4. Place the dumpling onto the sheet pan.

5. Serve it as a snack or appetizer.
