Hummus
….Making hummus is pretty simple. It’s a fantastic thing for a family to make their own. I made a simple, plain hummus recipe and include suggestions for what to add to it with some garnish. It might look beige and boring in the bowl, but this blend of chickpeas, olive oil, sesame seeds, lemon juice, and garlic creates a dip that is so much more than the sum of its parts. Also I added some fruits, nuts, and ricotta cheese as a garnish. I made a pretty plate and just looking at it made me feel good. JOHN and ANNE gobbled it up with pitas. You can feel good about eating hummus, as it contains a wide variety of vitamins and minerals. Today, I made moussaka as a main dish and hummus as an appetizer for dinner with some green salad. Greek cuisine is definitely healthy.
