Steak Sushi


  1. 1.5 lb beef sirloin steak(or New York Strip steak)
  2. 2 cup steamed rice
  3. 1 cup red onion, sliced
  4. 1/2 cup green onion, minced
  5. garlic chips(this is optional)
  6. olive oil
  7. sea salt
  8. black pepper powder

For teriyaki sauce:

  1. 1 cup soy sauce
  2. 2/3 cup Mirin
  3. 1/3 cup sake
  4. 8 Ts Muscovado(or brown sugar)
  5. 1/4 cup ginger, sliced

For rice sauce:

  1. 1 cup vinegar
  2. 5 Ts sugar
  3. 2 ts sea salt
  4. 5cmX5cm kelp

Cooking Instructions:

  1. Make a teriyaki sauce: Put the soy sauce, Mirin, sake, Muscovado and ginger into a pan. Heat up with low heat and simmer it about 25–30 minutes, with the lid covering just half of the pot. This should produce about 1 cup of teriyaki sauce. Turn off the heat and take out the ginger. Keep in the refrigerator up to 6 months.
